Uncovering racial discrimination in Saudi Arabia: findings of the CERD Committee

On November 27 and 28, 2024, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination examined Saudi Arabia’s combined tenth and eleventh periodic reports. The Committee issued its Concluding Observations on December 10, 2024 and found a number of violations to the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination by the Saudi authorities.

Lebanon: Attack on freedoms targets LGBTI people

In the wake of a violent assault on a LGBTI-friendly bar in Beirut, Lebanese authorities are attacking the fundamental rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people. As part of the Coalition to Defend Freedom of Expression in Lebanon, we call on the Lebanese authorities to immediately scrap the proposed anti-LGBTI laws and end the ongoing attacks on basic freedoms.
